‘भारतरत्न’ पुरस्कार हा भारताचा सर्वोच्च नागरी सन्मान आहे. आतापर्यंत ४५ जणांना हा पुरस्कार मिळाला आहे. आतापर्यंत समाज सेवा, कला, साहित्य, विज्ञान व तंत्रज्ञान, कारखानदारी ही क्षेत्रे व सनदी सेवा बजावलेल्या व्यक्तींनाच हा पुरस्कार दिला गेला आहे.
The Bharat Ratna (Hindi pronunciation:भारतरत्न) is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India. Instituted in 1954, the award is conferred "in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order". The award was originally limited to achievements in the arts, literature, science, and public services, but the government expanded the criteria to include "any field of human endeavour" in December 2011.
